Happy Doc Extra Credit

I believe I identify most with Ronaldo Fadul. He’s doing what he wants to do, what makes him happy, which is to surf. Like him, I am pursuing what I want to do in life, to teach. What struck me was his response, how he thinks that each person has to be what they want to be. “I believe this to be true because at the end of the day you need to be happy with your life. It’s important to wake up every morning and want to go to your job. Like Ronaldo stated, he doesn’t have a degree, but his life is still good.” I agree with him, it doesn’t matter what job you have, what matters is that you’re happy, whether you’re a janitor, or a doctor, no one is better than anyone. So as he said in the movie, surfing is his passion, he has been doing it for over 40 years, it makes him happy, it is all he needs. I also liked how he talked about why surfing is great, that it’s a sport and it helps him to forget about his stresses.
