My name is Ian Fregoso, I’m Hispanic, born in Anaheim, CA at Martin Luther Hospital, but raised most of my life in Whittier, CA. I am an only child, live at home with my parents, and my Dachshund, named Odie. I actually live not too far from Whittier College, so I commute. I’m in my third year, and I’m majoring in Child Development. My plan after I graduate with my bachelors is to come back to receive my masters in Child Development. I figured out what I wanted to do during my high school years. One of my former teachers inspired me to become a teacher myself, to this day, we still keep in touch. Some things I like to do are watching sports such as baseball either on TV, or at a physical stadium, and MMA (UFC). My favorite type of food is Mexican, especially tacos, tostadas, and sopes. I also like to watch movies, some of my favorites are Avengers Endgame, Star Wars, Old School, Superbad, and Team America World Police. I play baseball during my free time on Sundays to take a break from studying, it’s therapeutic. Other things I find pleasure doing is reading visual dictionaries, archery, both at home or at a shooting range, browsing the internet, and playing XBOX ONE. Some other facts about myself, during high school I played baseball for Whittier High, where I earned two awards: Offensive Player of the Year, and the Cardinal Slugger award during my junior year, my stats were .395 batting average, 3 home-runs, 15 hits, 13 RBI’s, .736 slugging percentage, and an OBP of .500. During my senior year, I graduated with a cord for serving as an academic mentor for 2 years, and received the Whittier High Cardinal Key. You may wonder why I am stating this information, it’s because of who I am. Growing up, I received a diagnosis of autism at age 2, and my parents were told that I would never speak, much less achieve the many things I have done thus far. To many, these accomplishments seem typical, but for me, they aren’t. I am very proud and I will continue to achieve my goals.
